š” Your organization has an HCB account and routing number you can use to receive money from outside platforms. They are deposit-only: money can come in, but you can't withdraw directly from them.
What they are
A deposit-only account with unique account and routing numbers assigned specifically to your organization. The balance is a charitable fund held by your fiscal sponsor, The Hack Foundation, so it works a little differently from a personal bank account.
What to use them for
Use them to receive money from outside sources by direct deposit (ACH): donations from fundraising platforms like GoFundMe, grant payments, sponsor payments, and transfers from another bank account. The funds land in your HCB balance, where they're tracked properly for tax purposes.
How to use them
Find your account and routing number on your organization's dashboard.
Enter them in the banking or payout section of the platform you're collecting from.
Funds sent there arrive in your HCB balance.
Other details a platform might ask for
Some platforms ask for more than the account and routing number. Use these:
Account holder name: The Hack Foundation
Account type: Checking
SWIFT/BIC code (for wires or international transfers): find it in the Account Details section on your account number page.
Good to know
All money your organization receives is subject to the 7% fiscal sponsorship fee.
