š” There are two ways to get a check into your HCB account: have the donor mail it to Hack Club, or deposit it yourself by photographing it in your dashboard. Either way, the check must be made out to "The Hack Foundation" or "Hack Club," never to you or your organization.
Who the check must be made out to
ā ļø This is a hard requirement. Checks must be made payable to "The Hack Foundation" or "Hack Club." A check written to your name or your organization's name will be rejected. If that happens, ask the donor to void it and write a new one to the correct payee.
Checks must also be from a U.S. financial institution and in U.S. dollars. Include your organization's name in the memo line so the funds reach the right place.
Option 1: Deposit it yourself
On your organization's dashboard, open Check deposits.
Take photos of the front and back of the check.
Enter the amount, which must match the check exactly.
You don't need to sign the back of the check. This option is much faster, and typically takes around 1 week.
Option 2: Have the donor mail it to Hack Club
Ask the donor to mail the check to: The Hack Foundation, 8605 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 86294, West Hollywood, CA 90069.
Make sure your organization's name is in the memo line.
Mailing is slower: from the time a check is mailed to Hack Club, plan on about a month before the funds are available in your account.
