How do I send Wise transfers through HCB?

Squad! We have some rad news that's gonna make your global money transfers way, way easier. You know how it used to be a little tricky sending money or getting reimbursed in different currencies? Well, those days are pretty much over! We now fully support Wise for international transfers. 

This means we've kicked those $500 bank wire minimums to the curb for a ton of countries. Need to send a small reimbursement to someone across the pond? Now you can! 

The option for Wise will appear in both your reimbursement payout settings & in the transfers page of HCB.

Wise Transfer Fees

When sending money through Wise, fees typically range between 3–5% of the transfer amount. You can get a clear estimate by simulating a transfer directly in the HCB transfers dashboard.

Please note: if you compare this with Wise’s public currency conversion tool, the numbers may differ slightly. This is because HCB benefits from Wise’s business rates, which can make transfers slightly cheaper—or occasionally more expensive—than the personal rates shown on Wise’s website.

Why are there fees?

Wise charges these fees to cover the cost of currency conversion and cross-border transfers. If HCB were to cover these fees in full, it would not be financially sustainable.

Can I send Wise transfers to India?

Despite Wise's support for India, Wise Businesses are unfortunately prevented from sending INR from United States. To send transfers to India, you must send an international wire, with a minimum transfer amount of $500.

Are receipts/invoices required for sending Wise transfers?

Yes, this is the same for any transfer, or transaction on HCB.

Can we 'front' funds through Wise, e.g. send money before making the transaction.

No, this is not possible. You must have a valid receipt/invoice to send a Wise transfer.

Can I get a reimbursement through Wise?

Yes, this is possible. Configure your payout information through your Payout settings on HCB.

I don't see my country's currency on the list?

Unfortunately, this means we don't support your currency. We cannot 'enable' new currencies, this is the extent of our support for Wise.

How do I know what the final USD amount will be?

Due to market fluctuations, we are unable to give you the exact amount when you 'send the transfer', however we provide an estimate (including fees) as you enter the amount.
