What is the fiscal sponsorship fee?

In order to support HCB's operations, we do take a fiscal sponsorship fee which is typically 7% of any funds that go into your HCB account. This is not monthly or annually, and you do not have to meet a certain amount raised when joining HCB or over a certain period of time.

This fee covers card transactions, full-time and part-time staff members (both engineering and operations), perks, and any legal behind the scenes (including our full-time bookeeper and accountants who manage your funds).

Compared to other fiscal sponsorship fees that tend to range from 7& to 14%, we sit at the lowest end of the spectrum (only taking what is really needed to support us as a fiscal sponsor so we can support you).

Hack Club grants such as The Hackathon Grant and The FIRST Argosy Grant are not charged with the fiscal sponsorship fee. In addition, in-person high school hackathon's fees are also waived.
